Myrtle Beach Deep Sea Fishing Excursion Options

from:

When you take your family to Myrtle Beach, deep sea fishing might be of interest to you and the rest of your crew. There are several adventures to choose from, depending on the charter you hire, the amount of time you want to spend at sea, and how much you want to spend on your excursion. Obviously, the longer you are away from Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing, the more it is going to cost you. The question you must address is whether or not it is worth the extra money in your opinion to spend the extra time.

Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing tours begin with a small 4 or 4 ½ hour excursion that will take you anywhere from three to fifteen miles from the coastline. The waters are typical around 40-60 feet deep, barely bordering the deep seas, and you’ll be able to find mostly sea bass in these waters. They’ll be small catches compared to what you can find further out, but they will get you accustomed to working the open seas. From there, your Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing adventure will crank up a notch to the 8 hour tour.

This option will carry you at least 25 miles from shore and maybe more, for a full 2-hour ride from the coastline. In waters over 60 feet deep, you’ll find larger, more exotic species like vermilion (also known as crimson snapper) and triggerfish. You’ll still locate sea bass in this area, but they will be larger than those further inland.

If you really want a full day’s worth of Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing, you can opt for an 11 hour excursion, which will run you out nearly 60 miles from shore with fishing depths of 120 to 200 feet. You’ll lose sight of shore for certain and really get to try out your sea legs as you cast for more large vermilion, red snapper, and triggerfish, as well as adding grunts, grouper, and amberjack to the list of most common catches. However, there are still more species to be caught at these distances and depths.

If you still aren’t satisfied that this will allow you to fully experience Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing to the fullest, sign up for an overnight trip on a fishing charter that will last a full 24 hours. You’ll be in the same vicinity as you would on an 11-hour voyage, but this time, you’ll spend the night, allowing you the opportunity to fish for night creatures like blue marlin, as well as to spend a great deal more time just fishing.
