Advantages Of Fishing Trips To Mexico

from:

There are many great options for fishing trips to Mexico, where you can seek out unique fishing opportunities, in areas of calm, beautiful water. Mexico has a wonderful climate for many species of fish, making it a great vacation destination no matter what type of fishing you enjoy.

One great option, if you are interested in catching a trophy large mouth bass, is fishing at Lake Mateos Bass Lodge, which overlooks the Humaya River. Lake Mateos encompasses fifty thousand acres of pristine beauty located in the Sierra Madres Mountains, and is stocked with pure-strain Florida large mouth bass. Lake Mateos is the only lake annually replenished in Mexico, which makes it a great destination for fishermen who seek an assurance that there are good fish to be found while on vacation.

Fishing trips to Mexico are also great in the Mazatlan area, where out of nine species of fish reserved for sportfishing worldwide, seven are available. The waters
around Mazatlán provide some of the finest sport fishing in the world. The fishing is excellent all year for marlin and many other species.

Mazatlan is across the Sea of Cortez from and slightly south of Cabo San Lucas, and receives less attention than other Mexican destinations, which is great for fishing enthusiasts because the fishing is not overly crowded and the area is not over-fished. Fishing trips to Mexico, and to Mazatlan specifically, offer great billfishing, and at a great value as well because the destination has not caught on as a hot spot where things tend to get more expensive.

In addition fishing trips to Mexico boast great weather conditions, with rough seas the exception rather than the rule. Most often, the ocean varies from calm to a light sea, great for all sorts of fishing and particularly inviting for novice fishermen. This also allows those who have always wanted to experience chartered sea fishing voyages to have that experience, even if they have the tendency to get sea sick. The chance of having motion sickness from the ocean ruin your fishing adventure is slim in Mexico because of the calm seas.

Fishing trips to Mexico also provide a logistical benefit to United States fishermen. Great fishing in Mexico is easily accessible from several areas, including California and Texas. It is easy to plan a full extended trip to Mexico to take advantage of the great fishing opportunities, but if you want to plan only a day trip, you can stay in Texas or California and plan a shorter adventure south of the border.
