Linville Gorge is located in North Carolina and is sometimes referred to as the “Grand Canyon” of this state. However, it really does not resemble the Grand Canyon. This river begins at the top of the Grandfather Mountain and works it way through many steep cliffs and thrilling waterfalls. It is a mixture of gigantic rocks and lush undergrowth.

The Jonas Ridge helps to form the Linville Gorge on the east side and on the west is the Linville Mountains. This river is full of some of the best fishing that you will ever experience. You will find an abundance of rainbow trout in this area along with brook trout and brown trout. This river is full of wild trout just waiting for you to discover them.
